How we promote safeguarding

How we promote safeguarding

We carry out the following actions to promote the welfare of vulnerable adults and children:

Staff are trained to ensure that they are fully aware of the key issues and responsibilities around safeguarding and can carry out their role effectively in this area.
Effective training ensures that all staff, including agency staff, contractors and volunteers who work with children and vulnerable adults, know our arrangements for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

Safeguarding Procedures

City West has effective safeguarding procedures in place, acting as an effective reference tool for staff that they will use as guidance when dealing with safeguarding issues.

Partnership Working

To ensure that the highest standards are maintained with regards to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, City West will maintain close links with other significant local agencies in this field.

Where the post is relevant, City West will ensure that it has a recruitment and human resources management procedure that takes account of the need to promote the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children.

Named individuals

City West will ensure that there are named individuals within the organisation who will act as lead officers and provide further assistance and guidance on safeguarding issues where necessary and appropriate.
