It also provides support, security and opportunities for social activities, like coffee mornings, games sessions, craft classes and more. Extra Care

City West also has three Extra Care Schemes.

  • Ninian Gardens, Walkden
  • Monica Court, Eccles
  • Astley Court, Irlam

Extra Care Housing offers flexible care, with 24-hour support from social care and health teams. Each resident is given an individual care package allowing those with greater care needs to live independently in their own home. The extra care housing schemes are run by the specialist national provider Housing 21. If you feel you would benefit from this additional support please contact your local office. We can arrange for you to be referred for a 'needs assessment' by the Social Services Integrated Care team. Following this you will be advised if you meet the criteria for Extra Care, if this is the case you will be placed on a waiting list and contacted when a suitable vacancy becomes available for you.
