City West’s special Welfare Reform Customer Forum took place on the 15th February. The forum gave customers the chance to find out more about the Government’s proposed Welfare Reforms and the help and support available from City West. The event re-affirmed City West’s commitment to work with our customers and continued the work we have already undertaken.
Barbara Keeley MP for Worsley and Eccles South gave her thoughts on the proposed changes and the effect they may have on residents across Salford.
Customers had their say in a question and answer session where City West staff addressed any concerns or queries.
City West’s Rent Income Team were on hand to explain the support in place for customers.
Customers were also informed about the Welfare Reform group set up on Facebook. The group already has over 80 members and is a great way for customers to find out more information and talk about the Welfare Reform Bill. You can join the group by searching “Welfare Reform Bill” on Facebook.
City West have also been working in partnership with Salford City Council, Greater Manchester Police and Englands Illegal Money Lending Team to crack down on loan sharks in the region.
