City West held an information event for customers at Barton Village who will be moving back into their regenerated properties in Engels House next month.
The drop-in sessions gave customers the opportunity to learn how to use the new technologies installed in their homes.
The suppliers of the new products were on hand to offer support and advice and demonstrate the products first hand. City West also produced an instruction manual that customers can keep with them, containing tips and advice on how to use and maintain the products.
These products included a new door entry system which will provide better security to the high rise block. The video door entry phone allows customers to view and talk to any visitor that makes contact from the door entry panel to their phone and then opens the door if they wish to admit them.
The innovative new Ecopod heating system was also on display and customers were shown how to set the temperature settings on their heating and water as well as receiving some useful maintenance tips.
Customers could also take a look at the new MEV Spider ventilation system which operates continuously 24 hours a day at a low rate known as ‘trickle’, to ensure customers homes are ventilated at the appropriate level.
The suppliers also displayed the new energy efficient windows which are A-rated (the highest energy efficient rating). The windows also have self cleaning glass which reduces the need for cleaning through a dual-action coating. It uses daylight and rain to break down and wash away any dirt.
Engels House resident and City West customer Susan Pickles said: “The training event was very efficient and City West have looked after us extremely well all throughout the project. They couldn't have done any more for us.”
