At City West, we don't want any of our properties to be left empty. When a customer informs us they will be moving home, we aim to have that property advertised as vacant as soon as possible. Should you be offered a property, you can view it with your Neighbourhood Officer.
We want to make sure your new home meets the standards you expect and that you can move in as soon as possible. We will always strive to make any repairs necessary to your property before you move in, however on occasions, we may have to undertake repairs in the first week of you living there.
As part of our commitment to improve the standard of homes, our Customer Inspectors have been involved in completing reality checks of ready-to-let properties.
The Inspectors’ reality checks include: the condition of gardens, floors, walls, ceilings and the fixtures and fittings in the bathroom and kitchen. The Inspectors then make an overall judgement whether the property meets City West’s publicised standards.
In total, 425 ready-to-let properties have been returned by the contractors. 65 (15%) of these have been reality checked over a 10 week period (February - April 2010).
One Inspector commented: “I have seen a marked improvement in the properties I have checked. I think we’re making a real difference.”
City West make sure every property meets the highest standards of repair and cleanliness before you move in. Our standards for handing your home over can be found in our ‘Standards for your new home’ leaflet.
