It is important that all of our customers have a friendly, clean and safe environment. Our dedicated caretaking and cleaning services help us to achieve this. These services are provided by your Block Superintendent, General Assistants or a number of trusted contractors. This page contains information for customers living in multi-story blocks, low-rise blocks and further service review information.
Larger and Multi-Storey Blocks are usually looked after by a residential Block Superintendent or General Assistant. You can find out the date of your next block inspection on our events calendar. Customers are invited to attend the inspections to raise any concerns or queries they may have.
The Caretaking and Cleaning Team are responsible for the maintenance of City West's blocks and communal areas. They will carry out regular inspections as well as the following:
Block Superintendents normally live in the block they look after, so they are always handy. They are normally on duty from Monday to Friday and working hours will be displayed in the main entrance to your block. Outside working hours, your Block Superintendent offers a Call Out service to manage any Health and Safety emergencies. Report these by calling 0161 794 8888. Find out who your Block Superintendent is by entering your address into our "useful information and contacts" search.
At City West our monthly inspections of multi-storey blocks make sure the cleaning is maintained to the published standard. ‘Spot checks’ and ‘mystery shopping’ also ensure we meet your expectations. We have a number of service standards that set out the minimum services that our customers will receive. You can read more about our service standards in our customer leaflet.
City West would like to apologise to all customers affected by the disruption we have had to cleaning of the communal areas of our blocks of flats recently. As an interim measure we have been arranging for cleaning to be carried out by City West staff and our Handy Van service to deal with any urgent issues. We are pleased to advise that a more permenant solution will be in place by August 2011. If any customers have any specific issues or queries, please contact your Neighbourhood Officer who will be able to help.
You can see the latest inspection results for your block by following the links below. The results are also displayed on the notice board in the main entrance of your block. We have listed every City West block in each of our four areas and will update the latest inspection results as soon as they are available.
